La Residenza Oltremera

The La Residenza Oltremera project has breathed new life into a historic building in the neighborhood of the same name, in the very heart of Chiavenna. The project has achieved its goal of revitalizing a building that had been abandoned for many years, transforming it through careful renovation into an energy-efficient building that meets the latest standards in seismic safety.

Emmezeta carried out a comprehensive renovation of the building, maintaining a perfect balance between historical remembrance and modern construction techniques, with particular attention paid to the restoration of the frescoes adorning the facades.

The character of the building has also been preserved through the expert restoration of the soapstone elements, such as the windowsills, portals and the original flooring, which now harmonize with the comforts of contemporary living.

These historic details, combined with the picturesque view of the river Mera and the terraces of Pianazzola, give the Residenza a timeless charm today and make it a unique gem in Chiavenna’s architectural landscape.
